The old Ribera district
In Barcelona the most old guild we have the first documented testimony, is the Shoemakers. It was a very important guild and was an altar of the cathedral, dedicated to his patron, Saint Mark.
At S.XIV was organized the city on the way that the different guilds could work together. The guilds were usually placed in the streets, because of this reason nowadays at Ribera we can see the streets with the names of the ancient guild.
In the district of the Ribera we find different remarkable places: The church of Santa Maria del Mar, the market of La Ribera, the site ofthe Born, The cemetery of Les Moreres,La Llotja.
