The wall and the aqueduct of Roman Barcelona
The aqueduct |
The water was really important in the roman society. Barcino town had two aqueducts that brought the water from the Collserola and Besòs rivers to the Decumana door, at the plaça Nova. The brought water through the aqueduct was saved in a big tank of water – the castelum aquae. From the castelum the water was brought to the public fountains and to thermal baths. |
